Applied steps

Compress images and reduce file size

TimeSave's image compressor shrinks JPG and WebP files by adjusting their quality, all inside your browser. Slide the quality control, hit Apply, and watch the before/after size update instantly. Because the work happens on your device, large photos compress quickly and stay private.

Smaller images load faster on websites, attach more easily to emails, and take up less storage. Combine compression with format conversion — for example, switch a heavy PNG to WebP and then compress — to get the smallest possible file without a noticeable drop in quality.

Frequently asked questions

How much can I shrink an image?
It depends on the photo, but lowering quality to around 70–80% often cuts file size by half or more while still looking clean.
Does compression reduce the dimensions?
No. Compression keeps the same width and height — it only lowers quality to save space. To change dimensions, use Resize.
Why doesn't PNG compress much with quality?
PNG is lossless, so the quality slider has little effect. Convert to JPG or WebP first if you want stronger size reduction.
