What is PDF Rotate?

PDF Rotate lets you change the orientation of one or more pages in a PDF document. Pages can be rotated 90°, 180°, or 270° clockwise. This is essential when a scan comes out sideways, when a landscape page appears upside-down in a portrait document, or when you want to standardize the orientation of an entire file before printing or sharing.

Why do pages end up rotated incorrectly?

Scanner placement: Placing a document sideways in a flatbed or sheet-fed scanner is the most common cause of landscape pages in a portrait PDF.

Mobile phone scans: Scanning apps may misread the device's orientation sensor and save the page rotated 90°.

Merged files: Combining PDFs from different sources often results in mixed orientations within the same document.

Software export bugs: Some applications export charts or wide tables as landscape pages without rotating the PDF page metadata correctly.

How to rotate PDF pages with TimeSave

Tips for best results

Rotate only the pages that need correction, not the entire document, to avoid accidentally flipping pages that are already correct.

If you need to rotate different pages by different amounts (e.g., page 3 by 90° and page 7 by 180°), do it in two separate passes.

After rotating, open the downloaded PDF in a viewer to verify the result before sharing it.

Does rotation affect text readability or image quality?

No. PDF rotation is a metadata operation — it changes the display angle stored in the file without re-rendering or re-compressing any content. Text sharpness and image quality are completely preserved.

Can I rotate only selected pages instead of the whole document?

Yes. After uploading, click individual page thumbnails to select only those you want to rotate. Unselected pages will remain in their original orientation in the output file.

Will my file be sent to a server?

Never. All processing happens locally inside your browser using the pdf-lib JavaScript library. Your file never leaves your device, so there is no risk of data leakage.
